Aim & Scope

The Lipari Summer School on Abstract Interpretation will be held on the beautiful island of Lipari, Italy, from September 1st to September 7th, 2024.

This immersive week-long journey, set in the stunning surroundings of Lipari Island, aims to provide MSc, Ph.D. students, postdocs, and young and senior researchers with a rich learning environment dedicated to the exploration of abstract interpretation, its applications, and its recent advances both in industry and research academia.

The topics covered during the summer school include abstract interpretation, static analysis, program analysis, software verification, formal methods, formal methods for artificial intelligence, and the use of static analysis in industry.

Travel and accommodation

The conference room (located at Hotel Giardino sul Mare, Via Maddalena, Lipari) is air-conditioned and equipped with all conference materials. In addition, special areas are reserved for students for the afternoon coursework and study. The island of Lipari can be easily reached from Milazzo, Palermo, Naples, Messina, and Reggio Calabria by ferry or hydrofoil (50 minutes from Milazzo).

Registration

Two kinds of participants are welcome: students and academia professionals,  and industry professionals.

The registration fee is 600€ for students and academia professionals and 700€ for industry professionals. The fee covers the course material, bus + hydrofoil Catania airport-Lipari-Catania airport, social events, and coffee breaks. Late registration is 650€ for students and 750€ for industrial.

Early registration applications can be submitted up to June 15th, 2024. Late registrations will be accepted up to July 21st, 2024.

Applicants must include an updated link to an official website. Payment must be received as soon as possible, no later than July 21st, 2024. Only wire transfers or credit card payments can be accepted. In case of cancellation after fee payments, a 30% penalty will be applied. Regarding credit card payments, processing fees cannot be reimbursed.
